Native to large parts of eastern Australia (i.e. south-eastern Queensland, eastern New South Wales, the ACT and eastern and central Victoria).
Naturalised in Tasmania.
Elderberry panax (Polyscias sambucifolia) is regarded as an environmental weed in Tasmania.
