Origin
Native to some parts of eastern and south-eastern Australia. It has a sporadic and interrupted distribution from the Blackdown Tableland, in central Queensland, through eastern New South Wales to the Howe Range in East Gippsland, in eastern Victoria. Populations are also present near Melbourne and in the Little Desert and Grampian Range, in western Victoria, on Kangaroo Island and in the Mount Lofty Ranges, in south-eastern South Australia, and in eastern Tasmania.
Naturalised Distribution
Naturalised in south-western Western Australia and beyond its natural range in some parts of Victoria. It is possibly also naturalised beyond its native range in some parts of central New South Wales.
Notes
This native tree species is regarded as an environmental weed where it is growing outside its natural range in central Victoria.
