Origin
Native to south-eastern Australia (i.e. eastern New South Wales and eastern Victoria).
Naturalised Distribution
Naturalised in south-western Western Australia and beyond its native range near Melbourne in southern Victoria. Also sparingly naturalised in south-eastern South Australia.
Notes
This species is an environmental weed in Victoria and Western Australia. It has escaped plantings in south-western Western Australia and become naturalised in banksia and tuart woodlands from Perth to Busselton. In Kings Park in Perth, spotted gum (Corymbia maculata) is a serious weed invading native woodlands and killing the understorey vegetation.
