Origin
Native to southern Africa (i.e. South Africa).
Naturalised Distribution
Widely naturalised in southern Australia (i.e. in some parts of southern and eastern New South Wales, in Victoria and Tasmania and in the southern parts of South Australia). Also occasionally naturalised in the inland regions of south-western Western Australia and sparingly naturalised in the ACT.

Small-flowered onion grass (Romulea minutiflora) is regarded as an environmental weed in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
