Native to Europe (i.e. Denmark, the UK, Ireland, south-western Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, the Netherlands, western Poland, Switzerland, northern Italy, Slovenia, France and Spain), north-western Africa (i.e. Morocco), western Asia (i.e. Iran and Afghanistan) and northern Pakistan.
Naturalised Distribution
Widely naturalised in south-eastern Australia (i.e. in some parts of eastern New South Wales, in the ACT, in southern and eastern Victoria and in south-eastern South Australia). Also occasionally naturalised in south-eastern Queensland and sparingly naturalised in Tasmania.
Naturalised overseas in the USA, New Zealand and Hawaii.
Notes
One-rowed watercress (Rorippa microphylla) is regarded as a minor environmental weed or potential environmental weed in Tasmania and other parts of south-eastern Australia. This semi-aquatic species generally grows in muddy sites or in shallow water. It has been recorded in conservation areas in New South Wales, including in the Nattai and Bargo Reserves (i.e. Nattai National Park, Nattai State Conservation Area and Bargo State Conservation Area) in the Blue Mountains region.
