Origin
Native to South America (i.e. Brazil, Ecuador, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay).
Naturalised Distribution
Occasionally naturalised in the coastal districts of eastern Australia (i.e. in south-eastern Queensland, eastern New South Wales and southern Victoria).
Also naturalised elsewhere, including in New Zealand.
Notes
Potato vine (Solanum laxum) is regarded as an environmental weed in New South Wales.
