Origin
Native to southern Africa (i.e. Cape Province in South Africa).
Naturalised Distribution
Widely naturalised in southern Australia (i.e. in the coastal districts of south-western and southern Western Australia, in south-eastern and southern South Australia and near Melbourne in southern Victoria). Also sparingly naturalised in Tasmania.
Notes
Haas grass (Tribolium uniolae) is regarded as an environmental weed in Western Australia.
