Origin
Native to north-western Africa, Europe and western Asia.
Naturalised Distribution
Naturalised in some parts of south-eastern Australia (i.e. in southern Victoria, the ACT and in the central tablelands region of eastern New South Wales).
Also naturalised overseas in New Zealand.
Notes
Wood violet (Viola riviniana) is regarded as an environmental weed in Victoria and as a minor or potential environmental weed in New South Wales.
