Origin
Native to northern Africa, western and southern Europe, the middle-east and western Asia.
Naturalised Distribution
Widely naturalised in southern Australia (i.e. in the coastal districts of southern New South Wales, in southern and western Victoria, in south-eastern and southern parts of South Australia and in the south-western and southern parts of Western Australia). It is also sparingly naturalised in Tasmania.
Notes
Sand fescue (Vulpia fasciculata) is regarded as an environmental weed in Victoria and Western Australia.
