Origin

Native to the coastal districts of southern Africa (i.e. Cape Province and Natal in South Africa).

Naturalised Distribution

Widely naturalised in the coastal districts of southern Australia (i.e. in the coastal districts of central and northern New South Wales, in southern Victoria, in Tasmania and in the coastal districts of south-western and southern Western Australia).

Notes

Rose pelargonium (Pelargonium capitatum) is regarded as a significant environmental weed in Western Australia and as a minor environmental weed in Victoria.
