Origin

Native to Mexico, Central America (i.e. Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama), the Caribbean and South America (i.e. French Guiana, Guyana, Surinam, Venezuela, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Argentina and Paraguay).

Naturalised Distribution

Naturalised in the coastal districts of Queensland.

Also naturalised overseas in north-eastern India, South Africa, Tanzania and French Polynesia.

Notes

Brazilian guava (Psidium guineense) is regarded as an environmental weed in Queensland.
